Cintas Litigation Paralegal II in Mason, Ohio

Cintas is seeking a Litigation Paralegal II. Responsibilities include providing legal support and paralegal services to internal and external counsel with an emphasis on matters related to tort defense litigation under broad supervision of an attorney; exercising discretion and independent non-legal judgment with respect to matters of significance; overseeing the discovery process for several attorneys, from inception through appeal; under attorney supervision, gathering factual information relative to litigation issues and preparing summaries of factual findings, investigations, deposition/hearing/trial testimony; drafting discovery demands and responses; following up with adversaries for compliance; preparing medical-legal chronologies and helping counsel prepare for fact and expert depositions; assisting with the identification and hiring of expert witnesses and scheduling of independent medical examinations; performing certain administrative functions; providing docketing support and managing litigation calendars; using technology to organize, index and oversee maintenance of case file documents; handling general inquiries relating to matter status and/or acting in a liaison relationship within the organization to facilitate efficient workflow in legal matters or projects and preparing reports; organizing documents and coordinating document productions; conducting Bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents; reviewing documents for production for attorney-client privilege; under the guidance of an attorney, categorizing documents by subject matter, preparing a chronology of facts and creating production charts; preparing court and other administrative agency filings, tracking status and following through on assigned matters or projects; creating, binding and distributing file and courtesy copies; organizing briefs, exhibits and appendices; preparing for and attending trials; organizing exhibits, files and all other supporting documents; coordinating trial set-up and logistics; assisting attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes, handling exhibits and marking documents referred to by counsel; assisting in the preparation of witness testimony; serving as liaison between trial attorneys and in-house staff; effectively communicating and interacting with adversaries, clients and third party administrator to exchange information and documentation relative to the litigation process; preparing witness and matter materials for case preparation; organizing interview memos and other relevant documents for attorney review; deposition preparation; and case preparation.
Minimum 6 years’ paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate environment
High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, litigation support applications, electronic docketing applications; PACER, electronic filing, legal research databases and other internet research tools
Understanding of the discovery process relative to ESI collection, processing and management
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear, concise and effective manner
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to independently handle discovery
Meticulous and responsible for calendaring functions while independently handling day-to-day responsibilities
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 4 years' tort experience
