Fleet Maintenance Apprentice - Ontario-10194618
Perform all necessary vehicle repairs and other duties as assigned; within the qualification level obtained, indicating to the Manager when repairs are completed and another job assignment is required. Immediately request assistance of the Fleet Maintenance Manager or Fleet Technician when needed repairs are beyond current qualification level. Has all major repairs inspected and approved by the Fleet Manager or Technician before the vehicle is released for service. Identified and reports any repairs found to be necessary whether or not previously assigned. Indicates any necessary repairs that are above current qualification level. Records time spent, parts used and repairs on the appropriate forms provided as each activity is completed. Ensure compliance of work and work area with Provincial and Federal regulations regarding equipment and equipment maintenance. Immediately reports unsafe practice or condition to the Fleet Manager or Maintenance Technician. Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area at all times.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years automotive or truck mechanical repair experience (hands on, classroom training or a combination of both).
• Must be eliglble for the Ontario Apprenticeship program.
• Must possess a valid Provincial license or other required certification to operate Company vehicles.
• Possess recommended minimum tools for an Apprentice Technician.
